GSC Gameworld is committed to keeping the community in the loop with regular updates. Announced via STALKER's official X (formerly Twitter) account on April 14, the roadmap outlines quarterly updates for *S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2*. These updates will be accompanied by patch notes to ensure that planned enhancements make it into the game as promised.
Following the comprehensive Q1 updates that addressed significant issues and introduced multiple hotfixes, the developers are set to continue improving the game based on player feedback. Here's what fans can look forward to in Q2 2025:
GSC Gameworld has spotlighted two major areas of focus: the Beta Mod SDK Kit and updates to the A-Life system. They plan to conduct a closed beta with mod makers to refine the ModKit before its official release. Moreover, they aim to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop to enhance modding capabilities.
The A-Life system, which governs the game's NPC AI and simulation, is set to receive significant updates. Following last year's hefty 110 GB Christmas patch, the developers are introducing "persistent A-Life improvements" and enhancing human combat with better use of cover, flanking maneuvers, and limited grenade usage.
Mutants will also see updates, with new behaviors such as consuming corpses and reacting to threats. Other planned features include the addition of mutant loot, the ability to skip shader compilation, an expanded player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, and the introduction of two new unspecified weapons. The team is also focused on further stabilization and optimization of the game.
