"How to Obtain Tier II/Fine Gear in Avowed"

Apr 04,2025 Author: Eric

In *Avowed*, keeping your weapons and armor upgraded is crucial for tackling the game's challenges. At the start, you'll mostly encounter Common, or Level I, weapons and enemies. As you progress, the difficulty ramps up, and you'll face Level II enemies, necessitating Fine, or Level II, gear. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to acquire and upgrade to Tier II/Fine weapons and armor in *Avowed*.

How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II) in Avowed

In *Avowed*, gear effectiveness is measured in two ways: Quality and Levels. Quality is indicated by a descriptor, color, and Roman numeral. Common gear, marked in green, is denoted as I, while Fine gear, marked in blue, is denoted as II. Each Quality level has three sub-levels, ranging from +1 to +3.

To upgrade your gear from Common (I) to Fine (II), you'll need to visit a Party Camp, where you'll find a workbench dedicated to upgrading your equipment. You must sequentially upgrade through the +1, +2, and +3 levels, each requiring specific materials depending on the gear type. Once you reach the +3 level, you can then upgrade to Fine (II), which requires Adra, a rare and valuable crystal. Adra can be obtained through Quest rewards, purchased from Merchants, or by breaking down Unique weapons and armor.

Where to Find and Purchase Fine (II) Weapons and Armor in Avowed

While upgrading is a viable option, it can be resource-intensive. Alternatively, you can find Fine (II) weapons and armor in the Living Lands, particularly in Dawnshore, though these are rare. Fine gear can drop from Level II enemies, especially from Bounties. However, using Common gear against these enemies can be risky due to lower damage output and resistance, so stock up on health potions.

Fine weapons and armor are also available for purchase in Paradis. After defeating the Dreamscourge-infested bear boss in Dawnshore early in the Main Quest, you'll gain access to Paradis. Here, near the Bounty Board, you'll find a pair of sister Merchants. Merlylin specializes in magical items like grimoires and wands, while her blacksmith sister offers a range of standard Fine weapons and armor at the adjacent stall.

That's your guide to acquiring Fine weapons and armor in *Avowed*. Keep your gear up to date to ensure you're ready for the challenges ahead!
