Short Circuit Studio has recently unveiled a captivating new update for their freshly launched settlement builder, TownsFolk. Titled "Shadows and Fortune," this update brings a darker tone to the charming pixel-art adventure and introduces a host of new mechanics for players to explore.

Even though TownsFolk has only been out for a month, the developers are not holding back on enriching the gameplay. The "Shadows and Fortune" update introduces new buildings and challenges that will transform your experience. Be on the lookout for roaming Barbarians that will ramp up the tension in both your campaign missions and Skirmish mode. Additionally, eight new structures are being added: the Altar, the Town Square, the Blacksmith, the Aqueduct, the Bank, the Granary, the Factory, and the Terraformer.

The update also brings a splash to the water tiles with the introduction of the rare Whale, adding a new element to explore. Alongside this, Special Locations such as ancient Obelisks and new Shipwrecks will add layers of unpredictability to your adventures. Ever wondered what that ancient Obelisk does? Now's your chance to find out.
