Pokémon TCG Pocket Mythical Island Top Cards: Mew Ex, Vaporeon, Tauros, Raichu, and Blue

Mythical Island's compact size belies its significant impact on the Pokémon TCG Pocket meta. Several cards, such as Mew Ex and Vaporeon, introduce new deck archetypes or significantly boost existing strategies. Let's examine each standout card.

Mew Ex

130 HP Psyshot (1 Psy Energy): 20 damage. Genome Hacking (3 Colorless Energy): Choose 1 of your opponent’s Active Pokémon’s attacks and use it as this attack.

Mew Ex is a game-changer. This Basic Pokémon boasts substantial HP, a respectable base attack, and the game-altering Genome Hacking ability. Its versatility allows for integration into existing Mewtwo Ex decks, alongside Gardevoir, or even within Colorless strategies.

Vaporeon

120 HP Wash Out (Ability): As often as you like during your turn, you may move a Water Energy from 1 of your Benched Water Pokémon to your Active Water Pokémon. Wave Splash (1 Water, 2 Colorless Energy): 60 damage.

Vaporeon is poised to dominate the meta, particularly against prevalent Misty decks. Its Wash Out ability facilitates efficient energy management, amplifying the already potent Water-type strategies.

Tauros

100 HP Fighting Tackle (3 Colorless Energy): If your opponent’s Active Pokémon is a Pokémon Ex, this attack does 80 more damage. 40+ damage.

Tauros, while requiring setup, delivers devastating blows against Ex decks. Its ability to inflict 120 damage on any Ex Pokémon makes it a significant threat, particularly against Pikachu Ex decks. Even against Charizard Ex, it poses a considerable challenge.

Raichu

120 HP Gigashock (3 Lightning Energy): This attack also does 20 damage to each of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon. 60 damage.

Raichu exacerbates the already formidable threat of Pikachu Ex/Zebstrika decks. The added 20 damage to each Benched Pokémon significantly impacts strategies relying on bench development, making it a powerful addition to Surge decks.

Blue (Trainer/Supporter)

During your opponent’s next turn, all of your Pokémon take -10 damage from attacks from your opponent’s Pokémon.

Blue provides crucial defensive capabilities, countering the aggressive strategies employed by Blaine and Giovanni decks. His ability to mitigate damage from Ex Pokémon attacks can disrupt opponent's knockout plans.

These are our top picks from the Mythical Island expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket. For more gameplay tips, strategies, and troubleshooting (including Error 102 solutions), visit The Escapist.
