Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves 2.0: A Comprehensive Guide
Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable opponent.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or use the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer Board Game
Inside, you'll find the Lifer and a six-piece board game. Control the black pieces to connect three in a row before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens walls/gates in that direction. Exiting preserves piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for buff removal. Winning before buff removal is ill-advised.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using the Stake of Imbalance. View buffs via the glowing yellow module behind the Lifer.
Removable Buffs (Fragility):
- Growing Loneliness: 10% Max HP recovery per second after 2+ seconds without attack.
- Desire for Escape: 25% ATK increase; additional 25% DMG increase every 20 seconds.
- Impending Stalemate: 20% ATK increase per DMG instance (stacks to 4); stacks clear after 6 seconds without DMG.
- Decay of Time: 200% resistance to all element types (Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, Havoc); 25% Max HP increase.
Permanent Buffs (Stability):
- Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
- Endless Game: 50% reduced Immobilization duration.
- Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking >25% Max HP DMG in a single hit.
Obtaining Stakes of Imbalance
Use the Sensor near the Lifer to locate four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open gates in those directions. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (white glow). Challenges include Tacet Discord battles, Friable Rock destruction, and simple retrieval.
Place each Stake in the corresponding module to remove a buff. The purple line turns yellow upon successful buff removal.
Defeating the Lifer
After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer. Winning the board game or selecting "Fight it out!" initiates combat. The debuffed Lifer poses minimal threat.
Rewards:
- First victory: Premium Supply Chest
- Second victory: Premium Supply Chest + 3 Basic Supply Chests
- Third victory: Advanced Supply Chest + 3 Standard Supply Chests
Re-enable buffs via the modules for a greater challenge (no achievement).
Achievements
- The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
- The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times (all nine chests).
- Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
- Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.
For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines. Its mistakes will provide opportunities for victory.
