World of Warcraft has introduced exciting new in-game items for fans who opt for a six-month subscription: the Timbered Sky Snake mount for modern WoW and the Timbered Air Snakelet pet for Classic. These items, themed around the 2025 Zodiac Sign of the Wood Snake, are available to players who purchase or are already on a six-month subscription by January 31, 2025.
Since 2018, World of Warcraft has been rewarding players who commit to longer subscription periods with exclusive in-game incentives. These rewards, which typically refresh in January and July, often reflect the lunar Zodiac signs of each year. For instance, the 2024 reward was the Auspicious Arborwyrm, celebrating the Year of the Wood Dragon.
The first six-month subscription offer for 2025 brings the Timbered Sky Snake, a stunning flying mount for retail WoW, symbolizing the Year of the Wood Snake. Accompanying it is the Timbered Air Snakelet, a charming pet for Cataclysm Classic. These items can be acquired by subscribing for six months, but they are also available for individual purchase in-game at $25 for the mount and $10 for the pet. Note that the Timbered Sky Snakelet, the corresponding pet for modern WoW, is available on the Battle.net shop for $10 but is not part of the subscription package.
Current subscribers on recurring six-month plans will also receive these rewards. Both the mount and pet will be added to eligible Battle.net accounts no later than January 31, 2025, and must be redeemed by the same date in 2026, when they will be succeeded by items themed around the Year of the Fire Horse.
Players opting for a 12-month subscription will enjoy additional benefits, including the Startouched Furline, Gigantic Grrloc, and Charming Courier mounts for modern WoW, and the Lava Drake mount and Swoopy pet for Classic. These subscribers will also receive the July six-month subscription offer, making it a particularly attractive option for collectors.
Looking ahead, World of Warcraft's 2025 roadmap promises exciting developments for both retail and Classic versions. Retail WoW is set to launch major patches, starting with 11.1, and may introduce player housing. Classic WoW will see progression servers move to Mists of Pandaria, new anniversary realms progressing through vanilla to The Burning Crusade, and Season of Discovery reaching its final phase. With such a robust lineup of updates, securing a bulk subscription now is a smart move for any WoW enthusiast.
