Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana introduces players to a series of challenging bosses, each designed to enhance their understanding of the game's mechanics as they advance. Though not as lengthy as some RPG epics, this title still packs a punch with its diverse roster of formidable opponents.
While newcomers might need a bit of guidance to master the game's dynamics, Gyalva, the Lord of the Blazing Prison, is an encounter reserved for those who have already honed their skills in combat and familiarized themselves with the game's core mechanics.
How to Beat Gyalva in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
- Boss Location: Zone of Lava, the Escapeless Abyss
- Boss Health: 1200 (Normal Difficulty)
After triumphing over Guilen, The Fire Eater, players will venture deeper into the Zone of Lava to confront their next formidable adversary, Gyalva. The key to simplifying this battle lies in positioning yourself at one of the bridge's ends.
Unlike earlier encounters, movement is severely restricted here, with the bridge's platforms constantly being disrupted by Gyalva's attacks. Players must leap towards Gyalva and utilize wind magic to inflict maximum damage in the shortest possible time.
The Ys series stands out as one of Nihon Falcom's premier offerings, and the satisfaction derived from overcoming its bosses is truly rewarding.
Gyalva’s List of Attacks in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, a remake of Ys 3, continues the saga of the franchise with fresh challenges. Gyalva, a new addition to the roster, brings a variety of attacks that, while straightforward, can quickly deplete a player's health if not handled correctly. Gyalva will soar around the bridge, often dislodging sections with its fiery assaults.
To prepare for this battle, it's advisable to upgrade Adol's abilities extensively. Aim to reach at least Level 21, which shouldn't be too arduous if you've been engaging with all the minor enemies along your journey.
Spinning Attacks
Gyalva employs two types of spinning attacks. The first involves passing over a segment of the bridge, causing the affected plates to spin upwards. The second sees Gyalva flying straight over the entire bridge, flipping all the plates in its path. Both can be devastating to an underleveled player.
To evade the first attack, quickly move to the side of the affected area. For the second, the safest spots are the ledges at either end of the bridge. Staying near one side ensures you can reach safety swiftly.
Avoid lingering at the bridge's very end to prevent being cornered. Instead, maneuver around the bridge to strike Gyalva, then retreat to the nearest ledge.
Fire Blast
Gyalva launches a fireball onto the bridge, propelling the plates upward. While this attack inflicts damage, it also presents an opportunity to land multiple hits on Gyalva.
Bursting Torches
The torches lining the bridge occasionally erupt in flames, with fireballs passing between them. These bursts can harm the player, but once they subside, it's safe to navigate through the area.
