Yangon Galacticos Win PUBG Mobile's 2025 Regional Clash

The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025, a thrilling chapter in PUBG Mobile's esports saga, concluded this past weekend with a spectacular victory by team Yangon Galacticos. Crowned as champions, they clinched the tournament due to their overwhelming points lead, securing the lion's share of the $20,000 prize pool generously provided by PUBG.

Set against the backdrop of PUBG's latest and largest map to date, Rondo, the tournament featured 16 teams that earned their spots through various qualifiers, including D'Xavier at PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers at PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE at PMSL CSA Fall. The new Rondo map added a fresh dimension to the competition, challenging teams to adapt and excel in its expansive terrain.

Yangon Galacticos' triumph was marked under the innovative SMASH format rules introduced for this event. According to these rules, a team needed to accumulate 30+ points and secure a victory in a different match to win. However, after six intense matches, no team met these criteria, leading to Yangon Galacticos' victory based on their commanding points lead.

Arondo the worldWith HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports securing second and third places respectively, the Rondo Cup has undoubtedly been a resounding success for PUBG Mobile, reinforcing their ambitious esports plans that have been on an upward trajectory since 2024.

Interestingly, the irony of the first tournament to feature the SMASH rule not resulting in a win via this method has sparked discussions. Whether this format will make a return in future tournaments depends on the organizers and their aim to foster more skilled and entertaining gameplay.
