Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments, renowned for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in a 1960s alternate England devastated by nuclear war. A recently released seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a detailed look at the game's mechanics.
The trailer establishes the game's setting: a post-nuclear Britain, reminiscent of titles like Fallout and STALKER. Players will navigate quarantine zones, villages, and research bunkers, scavenging resources to survive encounters with robots, cultists, and perilous environments.
Gameplay features a blend of melee and ranged combat. While the trailer showcases a relatively basic arsenal (cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, bolt-action rifle), it highlights weapon upgrade systems and hints at a broader selection of firearms to discover. Crafting plays a significant role, allowing players to create healing items and combat tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Furthermore, a skill tree system allows players to invest in upgrades across four categories: melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.
Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall will launch on March 27th for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so fans should stay tuned to their social media channels for further updates.
