Ponos's Battle Cats Celebrates 12 Years with a Sengoku-Era Ad Campaign
Twelve years of quirky ninja cats, fish cats, and even the memorably named "Gross Cat"—The Battle Cats continues its reign in the mobile gaming world. Developer Ponos is marking this milestone with a new advertising campaign set in Japan's Sengoku period.
The commercials blend the historical setting's tactical warfare with the game's signature humor and uniquely designed cat food cans. This cinematic campaign, titled "The Way of the Cat," is a collaboration between Ponos and R/GA. The ads are visually striking and, surprisingly, make you want to "be the cat, become the cat."

"As we celebrate 12 years of The Battle Cats, we’re excited to challenge perceptions and showcase the game’s strategic depth," says Ponos' COO and Managing Director Seiichiro Sano. "This collaboration with R/GA honors our heritage while inviting new players to experience the thrill of tactical gameplay in a fresh way."
