Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverts Controversial Zombies Change

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Player Feedback and Implements Numerous Fixes

Treyarch has released a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, addressing player concerns and implementing several significant changes. Key highlights include the reversal of a controversial Zombies Directed Mode adjustment, buffs to the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, and various bug fixes across multiple game modes.

Zombies Directed Mode Changes Reversed:

Following negative player feedback, Treyarch has reverted the recent change to the zombie spawn delay in Directed Mode. The extended delay between rounds and zombie spawns, introduced on January 3rd, proved unpopular with the community, hindering kill farming and camo challenge completion. The update restores the spawn delay to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. Additional fixes address guidance issues and quest progression bugs within Citadelle des Morts' Directed Mode.

Shadow Rift Ammo Mod Receives Buffs:

The Shadow Rift Ammo Mod has received substantial buffs to improve its effectiveness. Activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies have been increased, and the cooldown timer has been reduced by 25%. These changes aim to make Shadow Rift a more powerful and enjoyable weapon modification.

Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements:

The update includes numerous bug fixes across various game modes. These address visual glitches in Citadelle des Morts, crashing issues related to Aether Shroud's Void Sheath Augment, and audio problems in the Events tab. Multiplayer stability has also been improved. Further fixes, including the resolution of the Vermin double-attack bug, are slated for the Season 2 update.

Upcoming Season 2 Update:

Black Ops 6 Season 2 is set to launch on January 28th, bringing additional bug fixes and gameplay changes. Players are encouraged to complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest before the end of Season 1 Reloaded.

Complete Patch Notes Summary:

GLOBAL:

  • Characters: Resolved an issue affecting the visibility of Maya's "Joyride" Operator Skin.
  • UI: Addressed visual issues in the Events tab.
  • Audio: Fixed an audio issue with Event milestone banners.

MULTIPLAYER:

  • Modes (Red Light, Green Light): Increased XP awarded from match bonuses.
  • Stability: Implemented various stability fixes.

  • Ammo Mods (Shadow Rift): Significantly increased activation rates and reduced cooldown time.
