Slaying monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is thrilling, but sometimes you need to capture them to harvest all their valuable parts. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to effectively capture monsters in the game.
Capturing Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capturing monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is straightforward but requires precision. The key steps are to weaken the monster, trap it, and then use a Tranq item to secure the capture. It might sound easy, but timing is crucial.
Your Palico will alert you when a monster is weak. Other indicators include a skull icon over the monster's symbol on your minimap, and physical signs like limping or drooling, signaling low HP. Once you've identified a weakened monster, it's time to set your trap.
Choose between a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap, place it strategically on the ground, and lure the monster into it. When the monster triggers the trap and becomes immobilized, quickly throw one or two Tranq Bombs to capture it. Alternatively, use Tranq Ammo or Tranq Blades tailored to your weapon and play style.
Successfully capturing a monster will conclude your quest, sending you back to Base Camp with your prize.
How to Get Traps and Tranq Items
While your Palico can occasionally set traps, it's advisable to carry your own into the field. There are two trap types: Pitfall Traps and Shock Traps. To craft a Pitfall Trap, combine a Trap Tool with a Net, which can be Spiderwebs or Ivy. For a Shock Trap, you'll need a Trap Tool and a Thunderbug Capacitor.
For Tranq items, craft Tranq Bombs using a Sleep Herb and a Parashroom. These can be further combined with Throwing Knives or Normal Ammo to create Tranq Blades and Tranq Ammo, respectively.
