In the last decade, the concept of cross-platform play has transitioned from a distant dream to an everyday reality. While it has undoubtedly united the *Call of Duty* community, crossplay does come with its own set of challenges. Here's how you can disable crossplay in *Black Ops 6* and whether it's the right move for you.
Should You Disable Crossplay in Black Ops 6? Answered
Deciding to disable crossplay in *Black Ops 6* can feel like a double-edged sword. The primary reason players opt to turn off crossplay is to level the playing field, ensuring a more balanced and fair gaming experience. Console players on Xbox and PlayStation often seek to avoid matches with PC players due to the different control schemes.
If you're a console gamer, you might consider disabling crossplay because PC players use a mouse and keyboard, which offers a precision advantage over controllers. This can lead to a less competitive experience for console users. Moreover, PC players might have easier access to mods and cheats. Despite *Call of Duty*'s Ricochet Anti-Cheat system, players of *Black Ops 6* and *Warzone* have reported encountering numerous hackers and cheaters. Disabling crossplay could theoretically reduce the number of cheaters you face in lobbies.
However, there's a significant downside to disabling crossplay in *Call of Duty*: it shrinks the pool of players available for matchmaking. This can make finding matches more challenging and may result in longer wait times and potentially poorer connection quality between players.
