The creators of the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the popular Dark and Darker, have officially announced the end of support for the game and the closure of its servers. Launched with high hopes, the project unfortunately lasted less than a year before failing to maintain its player base, primarily due to low player activity and a lack of significant updates to keep the community engaged.
Although Dungeonborne's page on Steam remains accessible, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. While the official reasons for the shutdown have not been fully disclosed, it's evident that the game's extremely low player count was a critical factor in this decision. Since late 2024, Dungeonborne struggled to attract more than 200 concurrent players, and in recent days, the player activity plummeted to a mere 10-15 players.
The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled to be permanently shut down on May 28, marking the definitive end of the project's short-lived history. Consequently, this game, which initially garnered interest among fans of the genre, will now fade into obscurity without having the chance to fulfill its early promise.
