Final Fantasy 14 Offers Returning Players Tons of Free Playtime

Final Fantasy XIV offers a free login campaign! From January 9th to February 6th, 2025, eligible players with inactive accounts can enjoy four consecutive days of free gameplay. This promotion is available across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.

This generous offer coincides with the recent release of Patch 7.15, featuring new side quests in the Dawntrail expansion, including the return of the popular Hildibrand series and a fresh Custom Delivery client. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida's New Year's message also confirmed the upcoming release of Patches 7.2 and 7.3 in 2025, along with smaller updates. He teased future story developments in Dawntrail, sparking much fan speculation.

The four-day free trial begins the moment players log in via the game launcher. Eligibility requires a purchased and registered Final Fantasy XIV account that has been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign's start. Accounts suspended or canceled due to terms of service violations are excluded. Square Enix recommends checking eligibility status on the Mog Station.

While the free login campaign runs, players can participate in the Heavensturn event (until January 16th) to earn a minion reward. Patch 7.16, concluding the Dawntrail Role Quest side series, launches January 21st. This free period provides a perfect opportunity for lapsed players to catch up on the Dawntrail storyline before the arrival of Patch 7.2. The future of Dawntrail in 2025 remains shrouded in mystery, adding to the excitement.
