Helldivers 2 Truth Enforcers Warbond Brings in New Weapons, Armor Sets, and Cosmetics
Enforce the Truth for Super Earth This October 31, 2024
Just in time for Halloween, Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony are rolling out the Truth Enforcers Warbond for *Helldivers 2*. According to Katherine Baskin, Arrowhead's Social Media and Community Manager, this Warbond is not just about cosmetic tweaks—it's a comprehensive arsenal upgrade, empowering players to "become one of Super Earth's official Truth Enforcers."
For those new to the concept, Warbonds in Helldivers 2 work similarly to a battle pass in live-service games. Players can use earned Medals to unlock various items within these Warbonds. Unlike typical battle passes, Warbonds are evergreen; once you purchase them, you have permanent access and can unlock items at your own pace. The Truth Enforcers Warbond will be available for purchase in the Acquisitions Center of the Destroyer ship’s menu for 1,000 Super Credits.
The PlayStation Blog post from the developers highlights that the Truth Enforcers Warbond centers around upholding the Ministry of Truth’s strict ideals. It offers a range of advanced weaponry and armor sets to equip your Helldiver for any challenge.

Show your loyalty to Super Earth with the new PLAS-15 Loyalist Plasma Pistol, a versatile sidearm that can switch between semi-automatic fire for quick responses and charged shots for heavier impact. For those needing more firepower, the SMG-32 Reprimand is a fast-firing submachine gun perfect for close-quarters chaos. Meanwhile, the SG-20 Halt shotgun is designed for crowd control, capable of alternating between stun rounds and armor-penetrating flechette rounds.
For those keen to exhibit their dedication to Super Earth's ideals, the Warbond introduces two new armor sets: the sleek, light UF-16 Inspector with red accents and the "Proof of Faultless Virtue" cape, and the medium armor UF-50 Bloodhound, featuring red accents and the "Pride of the Whistleblower" cape. Both sets come equipped with the Unflinching perk, which reduces the staggering effect from incoming hits.

Beyond armor, players can unlock various banners and cosmetic patterns for hellpods, exosuits, and Pelican-1, along with the "At Ease" emote to showcase the serious nature of the Truth Enforcers within the game's satirical military setting.
The Warbond also introduces the Dead Sprint booster, allowing players to keep sprinting and diving even when stamina is depleted, at the cost of health. This high-risk, high-reward item can be a game-changer in intense situations, enabling quick maneuvers around enemies.
Helldivers 2’s Promising Future Despite Initial Player Base Decline

Despite a strong launch earlier this year, with a peak of 458,709 concurrent players on Steam (excluding PS5 players), Helldivers 2 faced a decline in its player base. This was largely due to the initial requirement to link Steam accounts to the PlayStation Network, which affected players in over 177 countries. Although Sony reversed this decision, the game remains inaccessible in these regions.
The game's Steam concurrent player count fell to around 30,000 before the Escalation of Freedom update in August temporarily boosted it to over 60,000. As of now, the player count on Steam hovers just below 40,000.
The introduction of the Truth Enforcers Warbond could potentially reignite interest and bring back former players to fight for truth, justice, and Super Earth. With a compelling trailer and a wealth of new content, this Warbond may just be the catalyst needed to revitalize Helldivers 2's community.
