A leak suggests one of the PlayStation Plus games for May 2025 has surfaced.
While Sony has yet to confirm, speculation points to the teen horror adventure Until Dawn being offered as a free download for PlayStation users in May. The key art hints at the Until Dawn Remastered version rather than the 2014 original, though details remain unclear; we’ll provide updates once confirmed.
PlayStation Plus is an online gaming service for PlayStation consoles, offering monthly free games, time-limited trials, online multiplayer, and exclusive discounts for members. It also provides a library of hundreds of modern and classic titles for Extra and Premium subscribers, though the monthly free games are accessible to all, regardless of subscription level.

According to discussions on the PlayStation subreddit (credit to PushSquare), this move might tie into promoting the new Until Dawn movie, released just before the weekend. The film fell short of expectations; we gave it a 5/10, noting in IGN’s Until Dawn movie review: "Until Dawn feels more lackluster than lethal, abandoning the horror game’s potential for a mishmash of recycled horror tropes."
The 2024 remaster also received a 5/10 in IGN’s Until Dawn Remastered review, described as an "overpriced remake lacking significant enhancements, feeling more like a cash grab than a must-play horror experience." In contrast, Supermassive’s 2015 original earned a solid 7.5/10 from us.
22 games will exit the PlayStation Plus library next month, including Grand Theft Auto 5, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, and the final playable versions of first-party titles Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2. As a result, Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 will no longer be available on modern consoles.
