Hunting AI animals in Ecos La Brea: Mastering Stealth and Pursuit

While seemingly simpler than hunting player characters, tracking down AI animals in Ecos La Brea requires cunning. Success hinges on stealth. Here's how to master the hunt:

Utilizing Scent and the Spook Meter:

Your primary tool is your sense of smell. Activate the scent button to reveal nearby AI animals as icons. A meter, visible while crouching, measures the animal's alertness. Movement increases the meter; a full meter triggers a panicked flight.

Strategic Movement:

Movement speed is crucial. Sprinting instantly fills the meter, running significantly impacts it, trotting less so, and walking minimally. Approach slowly, walking as you near the target.

Wind direction also affects detection. Downwind approaches trigger faster spooking, crosswind is moderate, and upwind is ideal.

Interpreting the Question Mark:

A question mark above the animal icon indicates increased detection risk. Halt movement until it disappears to avoid triggering flight.

The Chase:

The meter will likely fill before you reach the AI. Be ready to sprint; AI animals are fast, but sprinting ensures you can keep pace. Their movement is unpredictable, so practice is key. Open fields minimize obstacles, improving your chances.

Securing the Kill and Feasting:

To secure your prey, get extremely close to initiate the bite. Drop and consume your catch, then repeat the process until satiated.
