Marvel's upcoming Vision Quest series is set to resurrect a villain from the very first MCU film, Iron Man. Deadline reports that Faran Tahir will reprise his role as Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar, the Afghan terrorist leader who held Tony Stark captive nearly two decades ago. His appearance in Iron Man was limited to the opening scenes, where he was ultimately betrayed by Obadiah Stane.
This marks a significant return for the character, mirroring the reappearance of Samuel Sterns from The Incredible Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World. While a release date for Vision Quest, starring Paul Bettany as White Vision, remains unannounced, Tahir's involvement adds an intriguing layer to the narrative.

His group was later revealed to be connected to the Ten Rings, a connection initially subtle but later expanded upon in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This retroactive inclusion positions al-Wazar as a Ten Rings commander, potentially linking Vision Quest to the events of Shang-Chi.
However, the series might also delve into more obscure, previously overlooked MCU elements, similar to how Deadpool & Wolverine explored the less-conventional aspects of the former Fox Marvel universe.
The return of James Spader as Ultron, also reported, further fuels speculation about the series' unexpected direction. Details about Vision Quest remain scarce, but the inclusion of these returning villains promises a compelling and potentially surprising storyline.
