Jurassic World Dominion incorporates a previously unused scene from Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel, screenwriter David Koepp has confirmed. In an interview with Variety, Koepp, who penned the screenplay for the 1993 film and returned for Dominion, explained that revisiting Crichton's work provided inspiration for the sequel, lacking its own source material. He revealed the inclusion of a sequence originally intended for the first film but ultimately omitted due to time constraints.
"There was a sequence from the first novel that we'd always wanted in the original movie, but didn't have room for," Koepp stated. "We were like, 'Hey, we get to use that now.'"
While Koepp remains tight-lipped about the specific scene, fan speculation is rife. Several sequences from the novel are considered strong contenders.
Warning! Spoilers for the original Jurassic Park novel and potentially Jurassic World Dominion may follow.
