Bethesda's Starfield now boasts lightsabers thanks to a new Creation mod. The recently released Starfield Creation Kit has unleashed a wave of player-created content, including cosmetic additions and gameplay enhancements.
Naturally, Star Wars elements have found their way into the game. While many high-quality Star Wars mods already exist, the addition of the Creation Club has significantly increased their number. Mods range from simple cosmetic additions like Mandalorian armor to more substantial changes, incorporating alien species, AT-ST enemies, iconic blasters, and even a Boba Fett character inspired by the canceled Star Wars 1313.
The free "Immersive Sabers" mod by SomberKing introduces three lightsaber variants – the Combatech Polaris, Old Earth Photonsaber, and the Arboron Novabeam Saber – complete with authentic sound effects, workbench upgrades, and customizable beam colors. A new perk enhances lightsaber deflection. Enemies also wield these lightsabers, adding to the gameplay experience. Interestingly, while Jedi craft lightsabers in the Star Wars universe, the mod integrates them seamlessly into Starfield's existing weapon manufacturers. SomberKing plans to add three more lightsabers from different manufacturers in future updates.
The arrival of Creation mod support, along with recent game updates including city maps and ship customization, has boosted player enthusiasm for Starfield. However, Bethesda's paid mod system remains controversial, particularly the paywall for completing a portion of the Trackers Alliance questline. Despite this, upcoming content like the "Shattered Space" expansion and a deeper exploration of the House Va'ruun faction promise exciting new experiences for players.
