Morefun Studios' highly anticipated 3D action brawler, previously known as Hitori no Shita: The Outcast, is back! Now titled The Hidden Ones, this game promises a thrilling experience with 3D brawling, parkour, and more, slated for release in 2025.
It's been a while since we last heard about this project, but now we have exciting news! A pre-alpha test is planned for January 2025, paving the way for the official launch.
Set in modern-day China, the game follows Zhang Chulan, a young martial artist who discovers his grandfather's martial arts techniques are highly sought after – and those seeking them aren't taking no for an answer.
The recently released gameplay trailer (see below) showcases impressive visuals and features secondary protagonist Wang Ye. Expect intense parkour sequences, including dashing across buildings while dodging projectiles, along with classic 3D martial arts combat, energy projectile usage, and brutal brawling.
Emerging from the Shadows
Researching The Hidden Ones has been challenging, given the multiple names associated with the franchise. However, from what we've seen, Morefun Studios appears poised to deliver a truly impressive game. The darker, grittier aesthetic sets it apart from other 3D ARPGs, offering a more grounded feel.
Ultimately, The Hidden Ones' success hinges on its ability to attract players unfamiliar with the source material.
