Upgrade Your Gaming Setup With Memorial Day Sales

Dec 10,2025 Author: Hunter

With Memorial Day weekend approaching, I have some ambitious shopping goals. While I don't typically jump on Memorial Day sales, the current uncertainty around tariffs and potential price increases in the U.S. has me thinking it's smarter to make my purchases now rather than wait. I've been wanting to upgrade my gaming setup for years, and it's starting to feel like a now-or-never opportunity.

Most Memorial Day sales have been active since last week, and I've been primarily exploring the Wayfair sale for various furniture pieces. My specific targets are a new office chair, a desk, and a good-looking bookcase for my game collection. Wayfair's sale has been the most user-friendly site to browse so far. I've also been consulting IGN's recommendations for the best gaming chairs and desks to expand my search to other well-regarded brands.

If you're also considering upgrading your gaming or office setup during these sales, here are my suggestions on how to approach it.

Start With the Wayfair Sale

While the Amazon Memorial Day sale offers discounts on practically everything, Wayfair appears to have the most furniture deals. It's an excellent starting point not just for the sheer volume of offers, but also for the ease of filtering out non-sale items. You can further refine your search by dimensions, material, color, price, and more. Even if you don't make a purchase, it's a great tool for clarifying what you actually want for your space. I've bought bookshelves, rugs, lamps, and tables from Wayfair and generally recommend them for such items.

That said, Wayfair doesn't always carry all the top-tier brands. Their prices are generally competitive for standard furniture, but it might not be the best source for a high-end office chair or a desk specifically designed for gaming.

Splurge on Comfort Only

When upgrading your entire setup, I recommend investing most in the chair. I'm still finalizing my choice, but I know it will be my biggest expense. My current office chair is literally falling apart, held together with a pair of sweatpants wrapped around it. At this stage, anything would be an improvement, but since I'll be using it for both work and gaming, I'm being selective. I'm still deciding between a dedicated gaming chair and a high-quality office chair. IGN's recommendation of the Secretlab Titan Evo is very tempting, especially with the current Secretlab sale.

Get Your Accessories at Amazon

The final, and perhaps most crucial, step is personalizing your gaming area. This includes RGB lighting, large mouse pads, laptop stands, headset holders, Steam Deck docks, and all the other items that make your battle station truly yours. For these, I've found Amazon consistently offers the best prices. Sure, Wayfair might have a Darth Vader cardboard cutout on sale, but for everything else, Amazon has been my go-to.

The Biggest Sale

Amazon Memorial Day Sale

Although I'm not in the market for a TV myself, it's worth noting that Amazon also has some of the best Memorial Day TV deals I've seen. Notably, the LG C4 has hit a record-low price on Amazon, making it an excellent gaming TV for both console and PC gamers.

Upgrade Your Gaming PC While You Can

I don't currently own a powerful gaming PC, and it's simply not in my budget right now. I primarily game on my Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch, which is great for portability but not for high performance. I'd love to build a new PC with something like an RTX 5090, but with GPU prices trending upwards and a potential Switch 2 purchase on the horizon, it doesn't seem feasible for me at the moment.

However, if you are looking for a new gaming laptop or desktop, Memorial Day sales are an excellent time to shop. I'd suggest checking the Dell Memorial Day sale first, but you'll also find discounts from HP, Lenovo, Best Buy, and others. Here are the most significant sales I've found in that category.
