A buzz about FFXIV, the well-known MMORPG, possibly sailing for mobile devices is floating around the internet. A gaming industry leak source, Kurakasis, claims that Tencent Games and Square Enix are working on putting the journey right on your phone.

This wouldn’t be the first time Square Enix has dipped its toes into the mobile Final Fantasy pool. But let’s just say the results have been a bit…mixed. Remember Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis? It was okay, but not exactly a knockout for a lot of fans. Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia shut down last year. So, the rumor isn’t entirely out of the blue.

Kurakasis’ leak offers no timeline, leaving us to wonder if this project is still in its infancy or if it is even a sure thing. So, we might have to wait a while for an official announcement.
