NetherRealm Studios unleashes T-1000 and Madam Bo in Mortal Kombat 1 DLC.
The highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 1 DLC character, the T-1000, finally gets its gameplay reveal, showcasing attacks reminiscent of Terminator 2. The character's moveset incorporates elements similar to Baraka and Kabal, culminating in a liquid metal transformation and uppercut reminiscent of Killer Instinct's Glacius. Robert Patrick, the original T-1000 actor, provides both voice and likeness, showcased in a confrontation with Johnny Cage. The trailer culminates in a brutal Fatality recreating the iconic Terminator 2 truck chase scene.
Adding to the excitement, NetherRealm surprised fans by announcing Madam Bo as a DLC Kameo fighter, launching alongside the T-1000. This fan-favorite character from the main story mode will provide support, briefly shown assisting the T-1000 in the trailer.
The T-1000 becomes available on March 18th for early access (Khaos Reigns owners), with general release on March 25th. Madam Bo is available on March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or as a separate purchase.
The T-1000 marks the final DLC character for the Khaos Reigns expansion, following Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. Speculation regarding a potential third DLC pack or "Kombat Pack 3" continues, fueled by the franchise's ongoing success and Warner Bros. Discovery's commitment to the Mortal Kombat series. CEO David Zaslav confirmed the company's intention to prioritize four key titles, including Mortal Kombat.

Ed Boon previously stated that NetherRealm had planned its next project three years prior, assuring fans of continued support for Mortal Kombat 1. While many anticipate a third installment in the Injustice franchise, official confirmation remains pending. Boon addressed the decision to release another Mortal Kombat game instead of Injustice, citing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to Unreal Engine 4 as contributing factors. He confirmed that the Injustice franchise remains a possibility for future development.
