Path of Exile 2's Endgame Rituals: A Comprehensive Guide

Path of Exile 2 introduces Rituals as a significant endgame event alongside Breaches, Expeditions, and Delirium. This guide details Ritual mechanics, rewards, and the Pinnacle boss encounter.

Identifying and Initiating Rituals

On the Atlas, Ritual Altar map nodes are marked with a distinctive red pentagram icon. A Ritual Precursor Tablet, slotted into a completed Lost Tower, guarantees a Ritual encounter on a chosen node.

Upon entering a Ritual map, several Altars appear, each sharing a map-wide random modifier impacting enemy types or mechanics (e.g., massive rat waves or life-draining blood pools). Interact with an Altar to begin a timed event. Remain within the designated circle to fight; leaving it prematurely ends the event with no rewards. Completing all Altars on a map marks it as complete.

The King in the Mists: The Pinnacle Boss

Securing 'An Audience With The King,' a unique Ritual currency item, unlocks access to The Crux Of Nothingness and the King in the Mists fight. This boss shares mechanics with the Act 1 Cruel version, providing a familiar practice ground. Victory yields 2 Ritual Passive Skill points, a chance at unique PoE 2 items, powerful currencies, and Omen items.

Mastering the Ritual Passive Skill Tree

The Ritual Passive Skill Tree, accessible via the Atlas, enhances Ritual rewards. It features Notable nodes and difficulty-increasing nodes for the King in the Mists. Each King in the Mists defeat grants 2 skill points, necessitating increased difficulty for each new Notable node.

Notable Node Prioritization:

Prioritize 'From The Mists,' 'Spreading Darkness,' and 'Ominous Portents' initially for increased rewards. Then, focus on 'Tempting Offers' and 'He Approaches' for better Omen and King encounter chances.

Ritual Rewards: Tribute and Favours

Completed Rituals grant Tribute, a currency exchanged for randomized Favour items. Increased Altar completions unlock higher-tier rewards, including Rare gear and high-value currencies. 'An Audience With The King' is exclusively obtained via Favours.

Omens: Powerful Consumable Items

Omens are exceptionally valuable consumable items that modify the effects of other currencies (e.g., focusing Annulment or Alchemy effects). Their rarity makes them highly sought-after for crafting or trading.

Additional Rewards

Beyond Tribute and Favours, Ritual enemies drop high-tier currencies (Exalted Orbs, Vaal Orbs, etc.). The King in the Mists has a chance to drop Uniques from a Ritual-exclusive pool.
