Roselia Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO Explained

Jan 02,2026 Author: Hazel

Pokémon GO hosts numerous weekly events each month, such as Max Mondays, Raid events, and the Spotlight Hour—the focus of this guide. This special event takes place every Tuesday, showcasing a different Pokémon each week.

During Spotlight Hour, trainers can earn valuable rewards and even encounter a Shiny version of the featured Pokémon. Additionally, players can evolve the event Pokémon faster by transferring extras to earn bonus candies in Pokémon GO.

Roselia Spotlight Hour Guide

This week’s Spotlight Hour will run on January 14, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Be sure to stock up on Berries, Poké Balls, and Incense to maximize your event experience. The featured Pokémon is Roselia, and as an added bonus, trainers will earn double Catch XP, allowing for quick experience gains.

Roselia, a Grass- and Poison-type Pokémon from the Hoenn region (Generation 3), has Pokédex number #0315. With a maximum Combat Power of 2114, it has 186 Attack and 131 Defense. This Pokémon is part of a three-stage evolutionary line: Budew evolves into Roselia with 25 Candies, and Roselia evolves into Roserade using 100 Candies and a Sinnoh Stone.

Catching Roselia rewards the player with three Candies and 100 Stardust.

Roselia can be traded with other players or transferred to Pokémon HOME. As a dual Grass- and Poison-type, it is weak to Fire, Flying, Ice, and Psychic-type moves, taking 160% more damage. It also resists Electric, Fairy, Fighting, and Water-type attacks, taking 63% less damage. Grass-type moves are the least effective, dealing only 39% of their usual damage. Roselia’s optimal moveset is Poison Jab (Fast Attack) and Sludge Bomb (Charged Attack), delivering 10.96 DPS and 99.91 TDO. This combination receives a boost in Cloudy weather.

A Shiny version of Roselia is available. To increase your chances of finding one, use Incense and have Berries ready for easier captures. Shiny Roselia features a brighter green body with purple and black roses.
