This week only, snag the official Asus ROG Ally Charger Dock at Best Buy for over 50% off! Normally priced at $65, it's now just $29.99. Surprisingly, it's not just for the ROG Ally; users report successful use with the Steam Deck. Alternatively, Amazon offers a compelling deal on the Anker 6-in-1 USB Hub and Docking Station for under $30, providing a more traditional docking solution.

Asus ROG Ally Charger Dock: $29.99

ASUS ROG 65W Charger Dock

$64.99 (54% off) $29.99 at Best Buy

The Asus ROG Ally Charger Dock is a convenient accessory for connecting your ROG Ally to external displays and peripherals. While the ROG Ally includes a basic charger, a dock isn't provided. Resembling a standard charger but with three ports, it offers a USB-C port (up to 60W Power Delivery, near the Ally's maximum charging rate), a USB-A port for peripherals, and a 4K @ 60Hz HDMI 2.0 port for external monitors or TVs.

Steam Deck Compatibility:

This dock also charges and outputs video for the Steam Deck. The Deck's 38W Power Delivery requirement is well within the dock's 60W capacity. Consider this a significant saving compared to the $79 official Steam Deck dock. However, for a dock that doubles as a Steam Deck stand, see the Anker option below.

Anker's dock supports both the ROG Ally and Steam Deck. Currently discounted to $29.74, it features a console slot (note: may require case removal), a 100W USB-C port, a 1Gbps Ethernet port, two USB-A 5Gbps ports, a second USB-C 5Gbps port, and a 4K HDMI 2.0 port. It also includes an integrated 90-degree USB-C cable. While larger than the Asus dock, it boasts superior aluminum construction.

The Handheld Gaming Market Heats Up:

Post-CES 2025, the handheld gaming PC market is expanding. The Lenovo Legion Go S is available for pre-order, launching in January 2025 (Windows 11, Z2 Go chip, 32GB RAM, $729) and May 2025 (16GB RAM, Windows 11 or SteamOS, $599). Also, the Asus ROG Ally X, released in 2024, offers superior performance to the original ROG Ally.
