A reverse image search revealed the image originated from a Bon Appetit article featuring a Brooklyn Blackout Cake recipe – published on April 2nd, 2024.

Pellen also commented on the article with "mmmm tasty," prompting further fan analysis. The cake's April 2nd publication date, combined with the upcoming Direct, led to fervent speculation linking the cake to a Silksong announcement.
