Several locations offer a chance to find Prismatic Shards, though the probability varies:

- Fish Ponds (Rainbow Trout): 0.09% chance from the chum bucket (requires at least 9 Rainbow Trout).
- Skull Cavern: 0.1% chance from Serpents, Mummies, Wilderness Golems, and Iridium Golems (after Combat Level 10).
- Omni Geodes/Mystery Boxes: 0.4% chance inside.
- Golden Mystery Boxes: 0.79% chance inside.
- Iridium Nodes (Skull Cavern, Volcano Dungeon, Quarry): 3.5% chance.
- Treasure Chests (Skull Cavern): Approximately 3.8% chance.
- Mystic Nodes (Skull Cavern, Quarry, Mines - floors 100+): 25% chance.
- Meteorites: 25% chance from a meteorite impacting your farm.
- Volcano Dungeon (First Completion): One shard in a chest.
- Desert Festival (Emily's Stall): One shard for 500 Calico Eggs (if Emily has a stall).

The most reliable method is the Statue of True Perfection, yielding one shard daily after achieving 100% perfection (see a separate guide for details).

Prismatic Shards have diverse applications:
- Museum Donation: Contributes to the "Complete Collection" achievement.
- Selling: Yields 2000g each.
- Crafting & Bundles: Required for the Missing Bundle (unlocking the Movie Theater) and the Wedding Ring (for multiplayer marriages).
