In a surprising and refreshing move, Stellar Blade director and producer Kim Hyung Tae has openly expressed his full support for modding. During a recent press conference held in Yeouido, South Korea, Kim was asked about his perspective on player-created modifications. He responded enthusiastically, stating, “First of all, I fully support the phenomenon of players using mods. In fact, I myself also want to try out some of the more exciting mods.”
He further elaborated on his hopes for the community, adding, “I look forward to seeing many players create their own mods and engaging in healthy competition with them to see whose mods are more attractive. I also hope that more players can get involved in mod creation.”
This is particularly encouraging news considering that the game isn’t even officially available on PC yet—and already, there are dozens of mods listed on Nexus for the PC demo. These range from new skins and reshaders to VR integrations and even cosmetic details like nail polish. Some mods, however, remain hidden under restricted categories—likely not safe for work environments.
IGN’s review of Stellar Blade scored it a 7/10, noting: “Stellar Blade is great in all of the most important ways for an action game, but dull characters, a lackluster story, and several frustrating elements of its RPG mechanics prevent it from soaring along with the best of the genre.”
The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch via Steam on June 11, packed with a variety of PC-exclusive features such as AI upscaling through Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, Japanese and Chinese voiceovers, ultrawide display compatibility, enhanced environment textures, and DualSense controller support for immersive haptic feedback and trigger effects.
Initially, the game was region-locked in over 100 countries, but good news for global fans—it’s now available for pre-order in more than 250 regions. While there’s currently no multiplayer mod available for Stellar Blade, intriguing hints within the game files suggest that multiplayer functionality might be present or potentially added in the future.
