I can't recall how many months passed after the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S released before you could simply order one online without any hassle. So far, the Switch 2 appears to have been more readily available than other recent consoles (after all, it's the fastest-selling console in US history). But generally since its launch, if you checked the usual online retailers for a Switch 2, it was almost certainly out of stock.
