Sydney Sweeney to Star in Live-Action Gundam Movie

Madame Web actress Sydney Sweeney is reportedly nearing a deal to lead the live-action Gundam film adaptation.
Production confirmation came in February when Bandai Namco and Legendary announced their partnership to co-finance the project based on the iconic anime and toy franchise.
The untitled Mobile Suit Gundam film will be written and directed by Sweet Tooth's Kim Mickle, with plans for a global theatrical release. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the studios released this official teaser poster:

Variety reports Sweeney's potential casting, though her specific role in the Gundam universe hasn't been disclosed. The actress is best known for HBO's Euphoria and The White Lotus, along with recent films like Anyone but You and Madame Web.

"We'll share updates as production milestones are reached," Legendary and Bandai Namco stated when announcing the project.

"Its groundbreaking approach featured military realism, scientific accuracy, and deep character drama centered around weaponized mobile suits, creating an enduring cultural phenomenon."
