Showrunner Adi Shankar has shared his ambitious vision for the series, which is set in the late 90s to early 2000s. He believes the soundtrack perfectly captures the essence of that era. Shankar also hinted at the series' future, suggesting that subsequent seasons will feature distinct visual styles and soundtracks to reflect the diversity of the *Devil May Cry* games. This statement subtly confirms that the anime is planned to extend beyond a single season.
While plot details remain under wraps, the first season is expected to draw from the manga *Code 1: Dante (Devil May Cry 3)*. It will follow young demon hunter Dante as he investigates a child's disappearance, leading him to confront his past, his family, and the legacy of his demon father, Sparda.
The first season will comprise 8 episodes, promising an exciting start to what could be a long-running series on Netflix.
