Fortnite

If you're diving into the action-packed world of *Fortnite*, you won't want to miss out on The Getaway, a thrilling Limited Time Mode that first debuted in Chapter 1 Season 5 and made a comeback in Chapter 6 Season 2. Here’s your comprehensive guide on how to play The Getaway in *Fortnite*, along with details on its duration.

Playing The Getaway in Fortnite

Getting into The Getaway in *Fortnite* is as easy as pie. Just launch *Fortnite* on your preferred platform, head to the Lobby, and navigate to the Discover section. Here, you should spot The Getaway—give it a click and hit the Play button to join the queue.

If The Getaway doesn't show up right away, don't sweat it. Use the handy search bar in the top left corner of the Lobby, type in "The Getaway," and it should appear pronto.

What Is The Getaway?

The Getaway is an adrenaline-pumping heist-style game mode where your mission is to snag a jewel from the map and make your escape in a Getaway Van. It's a PvP showdown, meaning you'll be up against other teams vying for the same prize.

The top three teams to successfully grab a jewel and escape in their van are the winners. Alternatively, you can also secure a victory by taking out competing teams as you encounter them. What's new and exciting this time is that The Getaway is also available in Zero Build mode, perfect for players who prefer to skip *Fortnite*'s traditional building mechanics. You can jump into the action in Duos, Squads, Unranked, and Ranked formats.

The Getaway Start and End Dates

You can enjoy The Getaway in *Fortnite* right now, but don't delay—the mode will vanish on April 1 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time.

I highly recommend squeezing in some matches during this window, as you'll also earn XP that contributes to your battle pass progression.

And there you have it—your ultimate guide to playing The Getaway in *Fortnite*. For more tips and in-depth coverage, make sure to check out The Escapist.
