Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post-PSN Outage

Apr 11,2025 Author: Logan

Capcom has decided to extend the beta period for Monster Hunter Wilds due to a recent 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous testing session. The PSN experienced an "operational issue" starting at around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until 24 hours later. In response, Sony provided an extra five days of PlayStation Plus service to affected members.

During the PSN downtime, players were unable to access online games, and even some single-player games that require server authentication or a constant internet connection faced issues. This significantly impacted the second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, which was scheduled to run from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9. As a result, Capcom has extended the next session by 24 hours, now running from Thursday, February 13 to Monday, February 17, instead of ending on the previously announced Sunday, February 16.

The new beta session timings are as follows:

  • Start: February 13, 7pm PT / February 14, 3am GMT
  • End: February 17, 6:59 pm PT / February 18, 2:59 am GMT

Capcom confirmed that players participating in the extended period will still be eligible for the participation bonuses available in the full version of the game.

Despite the disruption, beta participants were able to engage with Monster Hunter Wilds' significant challenge, the new monster named Arkveld.

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For more detailed information, you can check out IGN's First coverage, including the Monster Hunter Wilds Final Preview.
