Last month, Tencent and Level Infinite announced plans to sunset Alchemy Stars. Originally launched for mobile devices in June 2021, the game will transition to an offline version following its service termination. This preservation move allows players to revisit the storyline even after servers go dark.
When Does Alchemy Stars Conclude Its Online Services?
The game's live servers will permanently shut down on January 24th, 2025. In preparation for the offline transition, developers will perform maintenance on January 10th from 4:00 to 9:00 UTC to deploy version 1.43.0.
Players must update their game after this maintenance to utilize the critical local data preservation feature. This one-time opportunity allows saving all accumulated progress via a dedicated button on the main menu. Multiple backups are permitted, but the cutoff occurs precisely at January 24th, 4:00 UTC.
The offline version maintains core functionality for saved accounts - players can replay story content and upgrade units. However, critical limitations apply: no future updates will release, deleted apps cannot be redownloaded, and reinstalls become impossible post-shutdown.
While bittersweet, this preservation approach offers superior continuity compared to complete termination. Interested players should secure their final data backups and consider downloading the title from Google Play before removal.
