Following last year’s announcement of iPhone 16 support for the Backbone One 2nd-gen controller, Backbone has now introduced the Backbone Pro. This advanced controller offers wireless Bluetooth connectivity or a direct USB-C connection for seamless gaming across devices.
The USB-C option delivers zero-latency performance and eliminates the need for charging, while the wireless mode enhances portability and versatility. The Backbone Pro stands out for its compatibility with smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, and VR headsets.
Designed as a universal gaming solution, the controller uses FlowState Technology to effortlessly switch between previously paired devices. The team behind it claims to have achieved the smallest form factor yet while incorporating full-size joysticks, a significant engineering accomplishment.
The controller includes customizable features, such as remappable back buttons, and integrates with the Backbone app. This app provides access to games from platforms like Apple Arcade, Netflix, Xbox Remote Play, Steam Link, and Nvidia GeForce NOW. Backbone+ subscribers can also explore a free game library.
“We envision a gaming future that spans across devices,” says Maneet Khaira, Founder and CEO of Backbone. “The Backbone Pro lets you enjoy immersive gaming on any screen with a single controller.”
