Bring Large Dung Pods
Hirabami packs a chilling punch, and the fact they tend to travel in packs makes this fight exceptionally tough. Your best bet? Large Dung Pods. These disperse the pack, allowing you to focus on one Hirabami at a time – a much more manageable fight.
Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo
Their aerial acrobatics can make melee combat frustrating. Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo is your answer. These bring them crashing down. If you’re low on ammo, severing the Hirabami's tail yields a Tail Claw Shard, which can be crafted into more ammo.
Utilize Environmental Traps
The Iceshard Cliffs arena isn't just a pretty backdrop; it's your arsenal. Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars can be strategically triggered to stun and damage the Hirabami. Aim for a head shot for maximum impact.
Aim for the Head
The head is the Hirabami's weak point, but their airborne antics make it a challenging target. Ranged weapons have a clear advantage, while melee users should focus on attacking the neck during the brief moments when the creature descends.
Watch the Tail
Hirabami's attacks are varied and unpredictable—bites, spitting attacks, and powerful dive bombs. While dodging these is crucial, be mindful of its tail. A swift swing can easily end your hunt prematurely.

To capture a Hirabami, reduce its health to 20% or less (indicated by a skull icon on the minimap). Set a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap, then quickly use a Tranquilizer before it escapes. Capture guarantees a reward, but you'll miss out on extra materials from hitting weak points.
Conquering the Hirabami requires strategy and patience. Remember to utilize Large Dung Pods, or call for backup using the SOS feature. Good luck, hunter!
