In the multiplayer survival genre, few games are as respected as Rust. Its progression from humble beginnings to great wealth, combined with large-scale combat and the struggle to defend your hard-earned loot, explains why the upcoming mobile version has generated so much excitement. Soon, a select group of players will get early access through Rust Mobile’s closed alpha, scheduled to begin this February.
You can register for the alpha on the official Rust Discord server. As expected, your progress won’t carry over, and in-app purchases will be disabled. This test offers the first hands-on look at Rust Mobile—if you’re one of the lucky few who get in.
Keep in mind, the test is private and confidential. Facepunch has confirmed participants must sign an NDA, so public screenshots or videos are not allowed.
RustyLike many, I’m particularly interested to see how Rust Mobile will handle in-app purchases and monetization. Games such as Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition have successfully blended free content with paid extras, like additional maps and perks, via in-app purchases.
There’s no doubt this release will be highly anticipated. It marks the arrival of a legendary PC survival game on mobile—a shift that will surely attract players eager to rise from primitive tools to advanced weaponry and dominate the competition.
