Bug Out Event Returns with Sizzlipede Debut in Pokémon Go

May 02,2025 Author: Dylan

The Bug Out event is making its exciting return to Pokémon Go, featuring a plethora of Bug-type Pokémon and introducing Sizzlipede along with its evolution, Centiskorch. This event, running from March 26th to 30th, is brimming with wild encounters, raid opportunities, special bonuses, and fresh challenges designed to keep you engaged.

Lure Modules are set to play a pivotal role during the Bug Out event. Not only will they attract Sizzlipede, but activating a Lure Module at a PokéStop and catching a sufficient number of Pokémon will increase the spawn rate of Pokémon at that location.

In addition, participants can enjoy double XP and additional Candy for achieving Nice Throws or better, with an enhanced chance of earning Candy XL for trainers at level 31 and above. For those on the hunt for Shiny Pokémon, the event offers improved odds of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.

The wild will be teeming with Bug-types, featuring frequent appearances of Pokémon such as Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, and Nymble. Lucky trainers might even spot Cutiefly.

ytDuring the event, Sizzlipede will be available in one-star raids, joined by Scyther and Nincada, while three-star raids will feature Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor. Completing event-themed Field Research tasks will grant you Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event-specific Pokémon.

Don’t miss out on the free Timed Research opportunity, which includes encounters with Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more, plus a Lure Module. For those looking for additional rewards, a Paid Timed Research option is available for $2 (or the local equivalent), offering encounters with Heracross, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor, along with two Premium Battle Passes and an extra Lure Module.

New Collection Challenges await, rewarding Stardust, XP, and Pokémon encounters, while PokéStop Showcases will spotlight event-themed Pokémon. Be sure to check out the in-game shop for the new Sizzlipede Boots and Scolipede Jacket to complete your event look.
