Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets a Bunch of New Details
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is set to launch in 2026, and Capcom has shared some thrilling new details about what fans can expect from this highly anticipated entry in the franchise.
The development team is focusing on three key aspects: crafting compelling characters, introducing a new protagonist, and creating engaging enemies. They are dedicated to recreating the historical ambiance of Kyoto, filled with authentic, real-world locations. Additionally, the team aims to deliver the "ultimate sword fighting action" game, emphasizing the visceral satisfaction of slicing through enemies.
While details about the new protagonist remain sparse, it's confirmed that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be set during the Edo Period. Players will battle against the malevolent Genma creatures. The protagonist will wield an Oni Gauntlet, using it to vanquish foes and feed it souls, thanks to a twist of fate.
The game promises to be challenging yet accessible, ensuring that action fans of all skill levels can fully enjoy it.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Is Getting a Remastered Version in 2025
The 2002 classic, Onimusha: Samurai's Destiny, is slated for a remastered release in 2025. Capcom hopes this will tide fans over until the arrival of Onimusha: Way of the Sword in 2026.
