Castle Doombad has made a triumphant return, now available on Android as **Castle Doombad: Free To Slay**. Developed by Grumpyface Studios and published by Yodo1 for mobile devices, this tower defense strategy game first hit the scene back in 2014. Grumpyface, known for popular titles like *Steven Universe: Attack the Light*, *Unleash the Light*, and *Teeny Titans*, initially planned a remake of Castle Doombad. However, they decided to split the project into two versions: **Free to Slay** for mobile and **Classic** for PC and Nintendo Switch.
**Castle Doombad Classic** will soon be available on Nintendo Switch and Steam, featuring a remastered version of the 2014 original with enhanced content and features. Additionally, a sequel titled **Castle Doombad 2: Muahaha!** is currently in development, promising even more villainous fun.
Let Loose Your Inner Villain in Castle Doombad: Free To Slay!
In **Castle Doombad: Free To Slay**, you can embrace your inner evil, indulge in maniacal laughter, and wreak havoc. The game challenges you to construct the most sinister lair imaginable while defending against the annoyingly virtuous heroes. Unlike traditional games, here, traps and minions are your primary weapons of choice.
The game is free to play, supported by ads and optional in-app purchases. It includes the full original game with 70 stages, daily challenges, and endless modes. Players can unlock and upgrade over 30 traps and collect more than 100 items.
An unlockable cosmetics system, dubbed 'spoils,' allows you to adorn your Dark Lord and his control room with various evil artifacts and loot. These can be paired with equippable 'Baddie Bonus' perks to enhance your gameplay experience.
**Castle Doombad: Free To Slay** also introduces a new robust rougelite mode, 'Dr. Lord Evilstein’s Roguevenge.' In this mode, you defend against heroes in randomly-generated castle layouts and collect nefarious Nightmares that grant a variety of villainous powers and abilities. Be sure to check out the game on the Google Play Store.
