Shogun Showdown, a recent roguelike deck-builder combat game, has joined the Crunchyroll Game Vault. The title first launched in September 2024 for PC and consoles.

Developed by Roboatino and published by Goblinz Studio and Gamera Games, its innovative approach to turn-based combat has earned it a strong following.

What Is the Gameplay Like in Crunchyroll's Shogun Showdown?

Shogun Showdown is a tactical game where careful planning precedes every action. The battlefield is a single, dangerous lane where every enemy aims to take you down.

You assume the role of a samurai on a quest to defeat a corrupt shogun, whose dark influence has plunged the world into shadow and chaos.

Combat unfolds on a one-dimensional track, typically spanning 4 to 12 spaces. Success depends on managing a queue of moves, setting up attacks, repositioning, and avoiding being trapped by ashigaru foot soldiers.

Every decision is crucial, as you can only queue three actions at a time. With procedurally generated runs, each attempt presents new enemies, obstacles, and layout challenges.
