Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has confirmed a company restructuring resulting in the layoff of approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person workforce. This follows reported financial difficulties.
Simultaneously, Crytek announced a temporary halt to development on the next Crysis game, a decision made in Q3 2024. The company is now focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
While Crytek explored reassigning staff to other projects, including Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the upcoming Crysis title, this proved infeasible. Cost-cutting measures were implemented, but layoffs ultimately became necessary.
