Halo Infinite, while perhaps not dominating the headlines like some other titles, continues to receive dedicated content updates. A recent addition is S&D Extraction, a new competitive game mode designed to inject fresh strategic depth into the gameplay.
Inspired by the tactical gameplay of Valve's Counter-Strike, S&D Extraction puts a unique spin on the classic formula. Two teams of four players face off—attackers aiming to plant a device at a designated location, and defenders striving to prevent them. Teams swap roles after each round, with the first team to win six rounds claiming victory.
The mode incorporates a robust economic system. Players earn in-game currency by completing objectives, which they then use to purchase equipment at the start of each round. This creates a dynamic element, with prices fluctuating based on player performance. Importantly, all purchased gear disappears at the end of each round.
Item pricing reflects their effectiveness and power level; more potent items naturally command higher costs. Expect cheaper options in early rounds, gradually increasing prices mid-match, and potentially even more expensive gear available later if players strategically save their earnings. Furthermore, players will have the option to pay for respawns after being eliminated.
Launching in 2025, S&D Extraction promises to deliver a compelling and dynamic competitive experience for Halo Infinite fans, offering a fresh and engaging challenge.
