Digimon fans, get ready for a thrilling new addition to the franchise! During the recent DIGIMON CON 2025, Bandai Namco unveiled Digimon Alysion, an exciting new mobile trading card game (TCG) currently in development. This free-to-play digital TCG aims to capitalize on the success of other mobile card games like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap, expanding the Digimon TCG audience into the mobile gaming space.
Digimon Alysion will allow players to collect cards featuring various Digimon and characters from the franchise, build their decks, and engage in battles with other players. What sets Digimon Alysion apart is its inclusion of an in-depth story mode, offering players a richer experience beyond traditional and competitive play. The newly released trailer provided a glimpse into the gameplay and introduced an all-female cast speculated to be part of the story mode. New characters such as Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh were revealed, alongside a new Digimon called Gemmon.
While there's no official release window announced yet, Bandai Namco mentioned an upcoming closed beta test, with more details to be shared later.

In addition to Digimon Alysion, DIGIMON CON 2025 brought more exciting news about Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara shared insights into the game's history, main characters, and the special moves of several Digimon featured in the game. Hara confirmed that players can choose from three starter Digimon at the beginning of the game: Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon, all beloved characters from the original Digimon Adventure anime.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger will boast an impressive roster of over 450 Digimon, including fan favorites like Angewomon, Gallantmon, and Agumon, making it the largest roster in the series to date. Hara also introduced the game's story and main characters, where players can select between two protagonists: Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, both secret agents for the organization ADAMAS, tasked with uncovering mysterious threats to humans and Digimon. The main heroine, Inori Misono, and her partner Aegiomon, will accompany players on their adventure. The game's title hints at a focus on time, with the protagonist being thrown back and forth through time throughout the story.

The event also showcased other announcements, including a 25th Anniversary PV for the Digimon Anime, new starter decks and booster packs for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and a new anime series titled Digimon Beatbreak, set to premiere in October 2025. The Digimon franchise continues to expand and innovate, promising exciting developments for fans in the coming year.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates and information about both Digimon Alysion and Digimon Story: Time Stranger!
