In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, the world is brimming with intricate plots waiting to be unraveled. If you're on the hunt for this elusive group and its members, we're here to guide you through the process.
The Butterfly Collector in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Explained

Your journey begins in the bustling city of Osaka, located in the central region of Izumi Settsu. Here, you'll encounter a woman in the town center, engaging in a seemingly innocent game of hunting down origami butterflies. As you explore the city on horseback, you'll come across these large paper butterflies, often pinned to tree trunks and surrounded by real butterflies.
Collecting these butterflies will lead you to discover disturbing notes, revealing that the Butterfly Collector is far from a harmless group. It's a clandestine organization of women involved in the sinister act of kidnapping children from affluent families to gain power and influence. Your mission is clear: you must stop them.
The faction comprises five members, each of whom you'll need to track down and confront. Let's dive into how you can locate and deal with each of these members in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*.
How and Where To Find All Butterfly Collector Members in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Similar to other quests in the game, you'll need to follow geographical clues to find your targets. We'll provide you with detailed locations to streamline your search.
Shucho

Shucho's carelessness leads you to her location in the Fishermen’s District, at the southeastern tip of Osaka. Dressed in green, she can be found frantically searching at an intersection. Use Naoe’s blade or Yasuke’s brute force to take her down and rescue the kidnapped child hiding behind nearby horses.

From Shucho's location, head northwest across the bridge to reach the Kojo ruins. Mucho, disguised as a family jochu, is struggling with her target on the road just south of the ruins. Use the child's resistance to your advantage, engage Mucho in combat, and escort the child back to her mother before moving on to the next target.
Richo

Richo, a young woman who blends in with the higher class despite her peasant-like speech, can be found in the bamboo grove at Noda Village, just across the water to the north of Osaka. She's dressed in pink and checking on a ransom. Approach stealthily or engage in combat to take her down and rescue the child she's holding.
Kacho

After dealing with the previous targets, you'll confront Kacho, the leader who instilled fear and maintained control over her followers. She's located just north of the Nishinomaru Garden, west of Osaka Castle, in a restricted zone. Look for a swarm of butterflies to find her. Engage in conversation and prepare for a fierce battle, as Kacho fights to the death, leaving one final member to address.
Gamemaker
Finally, return to the Gamemaker, who initiated the butterfly collecting quest. As a former victim, she created the game hoping someone would unravel the mystery and save others from her fate. You'll face a moral choice: punish her for her involvement or allow her to start anew. Choosing the latter grants her a new name and life. Regardless of your decision, eliminating the Butterfly Collector faction earns you 5,500 XP toward your next level.
That's how you can find and deal with the Butterfly Collector and its members in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*. For more tips and guides, explore The Escapist.
