Demon Mode/Demon Gauge and Archdemon Mode

The Dual Blades' unique gauge mechanic. Demon Mode enhances your abilities but drains stamina. Successful attacks in Demon Mode fill the Demon Gauge. A full gauge activates Archdemon Mode, offering even greater power but with a time limit and gauge depletion with certain attacks. Both modes can be used strategically, and the Demon Gauge stops decreasing while mounted on a monster.

Demon Dodge

Triggered by a Perfect Evade, Demon Dodge boosts damage and allows attacks while dodging, providing a 12-second damage buff. Subsequent dodges during this buff deal additional spinning damage.

Dual Blades combos revolve around Demon and Archdemon Modes. Efficient chaining maximizes damage.

Basic Combo

Chain three Triangle/Y attacks: Double Slash, Double Slash Return Stroke, and Circle Slash. A reliable damage source for various situations.

Demon Mode Basic Combo

In Demon Mode, the basic combo becomes more powerful and faster: Demon Fangs, Twofold Demon Slash, Sixfold Demon Slash, finishing with Triangle/Y + Circle/B for Demon Flurry I.

Archdemon Mode Blade Dance Combo

With a full Demon Gauge, unleash Archdemon Mode's devastating power. Begin with Blade Dance (Triangle/Y + Circle/B), follow with four R2/RT presses for Demon Flurry I into Blade Dance II, concluding with Demon Flurry II and Blade Dance III. This rapid sequence delivers immense damage.

Mastering the Dual Blades involves seamlessly transitioning between modes for optimal damage output.

Always Follow Up

Start with the Demon Flurry Rush combo (Circle/B x3) to transition into Demon or Archdemon Mode combos (Triangle/Y + Circle/B x3). This rapidly fills the Demon Gauge for immediate, high-damage attacks.

Keep Your Stamina Up

Demon Mode relies on stamina. Manage it carefully. Exiting Demon Mode recovers stamina, but using Focus Strike on wounds maintains the Demon Gauge while pausing stamina drain.

Dodging in Between Attacks

Dodge frequently. The Dual Blades' quick animations allow for strategic dodging between attacks to avoid damage.

Ensure Sharpness

The high attack frequency necessitates frequent sharpening. Consider the Speed Sharpening skill to minimize downtime.
