Dune: Awakening's release has been postponed by three weeks to incorporate valuable player feedback. Dive into the details behind this delay and get excited about the upcoming large-scale beta weekend.
Dune: Awakening Development Updates
Coming on June 10
Dune: Awakening is gearing up for its launch with a series of events and activities designed to build anticipation. However, developer Funcom has decided to extend the development timeline. On April 15, via a post on X (formerly Twitter), Funcom announced a three-week delay for Dune: Awakening.
Originally slated for a May 20 release, the game will now launch on June 5 for deluxe edition buyers, and on June 10 for the general public worldwide. This decision stems from extensive feedback received during the Persistent Closed Beta, prompting the developers to allocate more time to refine the game.
Funcom's commitment to delivering a top-tier gaming experience is evident in their response to the community's input. The additional three weeks are intended to "make improvements that will lead to a better gameplay experience from day one," according to the developers.
Large-Scale Beta Weekend

Despite the delay, Funcom has planned an exciting large-scale beta weekend next month. This event will give more players the chance to experience Dune: Awakening and provide their feedback. More details about this beta weekend will be announced shortly.
Dune: Awakening is described by its developers as a "beast of a game," a massive multiplayer survival experience featuring unprecedented gameplay and technical elements. In the meantime, interested players can watch livestreams on Steam, YouTube, and Twitch to get a closer look at the game's features and mechanics.
Dune: Awakening is now scheduled for release on June 10, 2025, for PC, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions to follow at a later, yet-to-be-announced date. Stay tuned to our updates for the latest news on Dune: Awakening!
